Stanley FatMax Box Beam Level Tested to Its Limits

When Stanley Tools developed its premium Stanley FatMax Box Beam Level it knew that it was the strongest it had ever made. That’s why it asked the nine professional tradesmen of the Tool Jury to come up with extreme ways in which to test the levels’ strength and accuracy, and invited Stanley forum members to vote for the best.

Following a host of suggestions, including running over the level with a tank, the winning proposal was the BIG DROP. This involved dropping the level out of a Flyonix remote control helicopter onto a solid and very rocky quarry in Wales.

Filmed by the crew from Top Gear, the stunt saw the FatMax Box Beam level dropped from heights of up to 150ft and subsequently remained unscathed as well as maintaining absolute accuracy.
